Coopers Canadian Blonde Fermenter in the Bin Day 0

Coopers Canadian Blonde Fermenter in the Bin Day 0

33L Fermenter with Coopers Canadian Blonde in a 100L stoage bin. Right now the Storage bin is working as a heat trap, the Foam is a Solar foil for keeping the sun out of your car. It does not quite wrap around the fermenter and it only has ties on 1 side which is odd.
The 25w Red brewbelt is around it 6" from bottom roughly and not doing much.
This Storage bin will eventuall be filled with water, a 50w stainless aquarium heater added and controlled with a thermostat. This should provide more continius heat control than the practically non existant heat control now. Runing from 17°C night to 24°C+ possible in the day with no heater.

1.034OG @ 17°C for 23lt 6pm 31-08-2011
(convinced I either read it wrong or remember it wrong, as its lower than most Blondes OGs I read.)

New Jetta

New Jetta

Hey, I may look like a dork, but I'm a dork with a new car.

2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI (Turbo Direct Injection—a diesel). I got the package #1 version since the heated seats are recommended for this engine (which takes a while to warm up—then again, there's an auxiliary heater in these brand-spanking-new ones). Of course, that package also had a number of other things in it like a sunroof and XM satellite radio (wow, that's definitely *not* CD-quality... so I might switch to a phatbox or something else instead).

bathroom electric heaters

    electric heaters
  • (electric heater) a small electric space heater

  • (Electric Heater) A furnace is a device used for heating. The name derives from Latin fornax, oven. The earliest furnace was excavated at Balakot, a site of the Indus Valley Civilization, dating back to its mature phase (c. 2500-1900 BC).

  • Are most common on portable spa systems.  They are a resistive type heater that heats the water as it  flows over the element.  Water flow is critical to proper operation. Without flow, if the heater should come on, it will burn up very quickly and can even damage pipes.

this is in my bathroom. it's a built in electric heater right under the towel bar. (dangerous, right?) since my apartment is so f'ing cold, it's nice to have. i run from my bed to the bathroom and turn this thing on. otherwise it feels like outdoor camping.

definitely a california thing though. i can't imagine seeing it back in illinois.

General Electric T9V3C 12" portable

Note the low profile Ferguson power transformer at the side to allow for 240V and isolated operation. The "Insta View" feature where fitted, runs the valve heaters at 50V in standby with the B+ disconnected. Unfortunately, the cabinet was never designed to have the extra transformer weight and cabinet cracking around the handle can occur.
Because of the transformer being in the way, the main electrolytic has to be moved off the PCB and screwed to the back of the tuner. Service access has suffered because of the Australian mods.
Broken channel knobs are also very common; unfortunately the local tuner requires more force to change channels.
